In mid-nineties it was felt by provincial authorities that over and above the remaining relics and monuments, symbolic of bygone epochs and civilization of Kerman province, creation of an architectural complex epitomizing the spirit of our times and heralding a new civilization was an imperative. This complex was envisaged to reflect not only the essence of the provinces long and ancient history but the national and cultural/religious dispositions of its people. Accelerated population density in the city of Kerman, interpreted as an index of prosperity and the need for rapid urban development was an added incentive to embark on the project. In late nineties (1998) the project under the name of Haft Bagh was eventually crystallized and actual construction work begun.
Haftbagh is, in fact, an arterial road connecting Kerman to Mahan, a quaint little tourist town 27 kilometers South-East of Kerman, around which future tourist facilities and urban developments would take place. Conditions such as abundance of fresh water, availability of ample piece of land, right climatologic conditions, ecstatic natural sceneries etc. were very favorable and the choice of site was perfect. The project, under Omran Alavi Mahan Co. management, was seen as a national one in order to attract potential investors from all over the country as well as abroad.
Twenty seven kilometers of the route has been constructed at a considerable cost. 4 million tons of grit along with 14 million tons of sand were carried to the site. It’s worth mentioning that 5 kilometers of the first 27 kilometers have been paved for walking, cycling and horse –drawn carriages. Also 40000 different kind of saplings have been planted along the route and they are all irrigated with modern network of drippers.

Project Specifications

A twenty seven kilometers highway comprising symmetrical speedways, bicycle and carriage routes and promenades as well as green areas and four vast squares have been accomplished. 1460 villas, types 1 & 2, on both sides of the highway have been sold to people either in cash or by installments.
Seventeen commercial plots, 3375 square meters each bordering on the main road and situated in the commercial zone of Haft Bagh are ready for sale. Every seventy plots of land, 1687.5 sq. meters each, earmarked for residential villas, called enclosures, have separate access roads and they all have officially valid title of deed for complete freehold ownership and enjoy power supply and running water.

Companies and individuals have already purchased lands to set up recreational, tourist and service facilities. Among the already inaugurated projects one could refer to Kakh Hosting Complex, Shaqayeq Hosting Complex, Bardia Restaurant, Mehrabi Panah recreational and tourist village (1st phase), Cycling Route, Shooting Square and a number of residential villas.
Also the biggest center for selling cars and providing after-sale’s services is under construction. Golsar Recreational and Hosting Complex, Hezar 4-star Hotel, Bachehay-e-ma Charity Organization, Omidestan-e-Salamat Health Center, and the biggest carting track in the country are almost done.
